Lights of hope against cancer ’25
During the spring holiday, De Schorre in Boom once again provided the backdrop for ‘Lichtpuntjes tegen Kanker’. Together with VRT and Kom op tegen Kanker, Barrík created the Lichtpuntjes Village: a welcoming meeting place where visitors could take a moment to reflect on everyone affected by cancer.
The goal?
To create a place where hope, support and togetherness took centre stage. Visitors could purchase a light, personalise it with a name or message, and dedicate it to a loved one. A beautifully illuminated lantern trail guided guests to the village, where they could enjoy live music, dance performances, children’s entertainment, food trucks and countless meaningful encounters. This way, the Lichtpuntjes Village grew into a symbolic place where hundreds of stories came together.
The result?
Under clear spring skies, thousands of visitors made their way to De Schorre. The solidarity was remarkable: more than 33,000 lights were sold, raising €770,000 for the fight against cancer. A powerful initiative that once again demonstrated the strength of hope, support and togetherness.
