Lights of hope against cancer ’25
During Belgium’s spring break, De Schorre in Boom glowed a little brighter once again for Light Up Against Cancer. Joining forces with VRT and Kom op tegen Kanker, we created the Light Village: a place to pause, reflect and show support for everyone affected by cancer.
One light at a time
Visitors could dedicate a light to someone special by adding a personal message or a loved one’s name. A beautifully lit lantern trail led the way to the Light Village, where live music, dance performances, family activities and food trucks created a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Among thousands of glowing lights, countless personal stories found their place too.
A powerful gesture
Under clear blue skies, thousands of visitors found their way to De Schorre. Together, they lit more than 33,000 lights and raised €770,000 to support the fight against cancer.
Proof that even the smallest act of kindness can make a lasting difference.
