Lights of hope against cancer ’26
Once again, De Schorre in Boom provided the setting for Lichtpuntjes tegen Kanker in 2026. Together with VRT and Kom op tegen Kanker, Barrík created the Light Village, a warm meeting place where visitors gathered to reflect on and support everyone affected by cancer.

At the Light Village, visitors could once again personalise a light with the name or message of a loved one. A cosy tent with wooden accents and large windows overlooking the largest light installation formed the warm heart of the event. From this central hub, Radio2 broadcast live every day, while live music, children’s entertainment, food trucks and countless meaningful encounters created a place where support, hope and connection took centre stage.
The result?
Despite less favourable weather conditions, thousands of visitors once again made their way to De Schorre. A total of 26,187 lights were sold, representing an impressive gesture of solidarity in the fight against cancer. Once again, Lichtpuntjes tegen Kanker proved just how powerful togetherness and hope can be.
